For the most part, Mr. J and I now take tandem window seats. We are close to each other, we both have windows, we are in the same aisle, and how long is the flight anyway? We manage 11 hour flights this way with no difficulty. YMMV.
I prefer this but my partner prefers the 2 middles. We compromise by doing windows one way and middle the other (preferably on a night flight when a window seat and the fabulous views are less important)
