Churning/Flipping Chase United cards.
Churning question. Chase United cards
My wife and I each hold a United Explorer and a Quest card. Separate account. Every year in December or early January I flip/churn the oldest card we each own. I cancel the card, apply for a new one, use it to pay end-of-year big bills like car and home owners insurance, and collect the sign up bonuses. But we don’t then stick the cards in a drawer and forget them. We put virtually every expense on the cards. Utilities, medical, phones, satellite TV and internet, groceries, travel, etc, etc.
Easily $60k spend every year. Probably more.
So, it’s time to do at least one, maybe two cards. One is going on three years old so no worries about replacing it and getting the SUB. The other was issued in December 2022. I met the spend requirement in Jan 2023. Received the SUB miles Feb 9 2024.
Pretty much like I have been doing for years.
But I was told in another forum that I can’t even apply for another card until two years after the SUB deposit, which is counter to my experiences over the past years.
All these big bills are due by Jan 31. I’ve always paid them with the new card and have always received the SUB the next month. Never had to wait until after the SUB deposit date to apply for a new card in order to get the bonus.
Am I missing something?
Thanks!
