Looks like you have 3 options
1. Accept the lower comfort and go for the center seat. Should be cheaper than 2x fare though.
2. Pay 2x fare plus ASR for the middle.
3. Pay 2x fare as you would in the past, do ASR for A seat for one and none for the other, hope if anybody buys the last seat will take K. Worst case scenario you end up in A and K and someone else between you.
