JW: $165/night
LM: $185/night (Sheraton and Ren are also this rate)
Vinpearl: $227/night

Haven't thought about using points because I'm fine with the cash rate.
Taxi are cheap, and you'd probably spend no more 100,000 VND from D1 to Vinpearl. I have been meaning to try it, but in the end I just get annoyed with the location and just book the usual suspects in D1.
