Fantastic post intuition

I had a few interesting flights this year.

First up was a daytime JFK-LHR flight on BA. I've been across that pond many a time, but never a daytime flight heading eastbound. A real jet lag saver, at least for me. Then the following day proceeded to my fav. connecting flight to HEL on the 10:20 AY served by the A350. Took this somewhat odd routing as I was traveling with my WCHR-bound mom and thought a slower, less rushed trip there would be easier for her. The AY business class seats are unsuitable for her, as she can't lift herself up from a laying down position without a good deal of assistance so a night flight direct to HEL was not the best option.

Second big trip was to Japan, this was done non-rev so was a bit of an adventure. Initial plan was to take UA into either NRT or HND but as luck would have it those flights filled up while I was on my way from FLL (although that flight went very well as I scored a MINT seat on B6). So off to ICN I went. A middle seat in row öö was offered but I told the gate agent I'd wait around a bit to see if their potential mis-connects were in fact going to miss the flight, which they did. So a window in row ää was procured, with the middle seat open! From ICN where I purchased a cheap ticket on a 747 operated KE flight. This seat, and service, were vastly superior to the UA Y class seat I had just endured for the past 13+ hours, wish I could have had that across the big pond but oh well. The way back was less eventful, and even scored a Polaris seat on the way to LAX. That was nice.

2025 promises a repeat of the Japan trip combined with a short stay in HEL. Award seats in PE were found to KIX out of HEL so I'm looking forward to that!
