adblockplus is not a good ad blocker. we used to pay them (in 2017 figures) usd$1mi to "whitelist good ads".
From a quick analysis of the spam/bot protection it looks like SAS uses Cloudflare. And I guess they do flag some browser behavior in combination with geolocation etc...
cloudflare usually shows their hcaptcha and it works fine, even with vpn. The imperva thing is completely different, and is the one that will block you unless your browser allow profiling via canvas, etc.
But the SAS website is hilarious... still tries to load stuff from the test system...
