Review: Club Wyndham Bali Hai Villas, Kauai

I first stayed here in 2022. It became an instant favorite due to its idyllic location and generous upgrade. I went back this October (2024) and expected it to not live up to the first time. Surely they wouldn't upgrade me to a 2BR condo with gorgeous mountain view again?

As it turned out, they did, and I enjoyed it as much as the first time. I'd like to share my experience with this community.

What: a timeshare condo community in an upscale area near the ocean and cliffs.

Cost: 15k for the 1BR unit. 30k for 2BR. Bookable on Wyndham.com. Value often 2 CPP or higher for the 1BR these days.

Location: Princeville, on the north shore of the island. Princeville is a semi-exclusive, perfectly manicured master-planned community, with sweeping ocean and mountain views, access to the beach (albeit down some steep paths), and home to the incredible Queen’s Bath. There is very limited public or paid parking throughout the community/town; you pretty much need to stay somewhere in the community to park, hence the semi-exclusiveness. For that reason, and also due to the limited # of big hotels, the public spaces never get crowded (as far as I've seen), unlike say Poipu or Wailea, even though it's every bit as beautiful (IMO).

Property: The property is well maintained externally and internally. Beautiful landscaping. No direct ocean view from property, but a 5 minute walk does it. Great mountain view from some units. Decent sized pool with multiple jacuzzis. Live music at times. Other amenities include ping pong table and public movie room. As for timeshare upselling, there was no attempt during my first visit (probably b/c I was solo). This time, traveling in pairs, they did offer gift card or free tours for attending. We declined.

Room: I was proactively upgraded to a 2BR unit both stays. First stay (in 2022) had pool view with mountains behind it. This stay was more private with more direct mountain view. Waking up to the mountain view and watching the first light of the day transform it, in bed or on the balcony, is something I’ll never tire of. Nothing fancy in the room, but very spacious. Full kitchen with stove.

I’ll let the pictures speak the rest. If you have any questions, let me know.
