Perhaps you can consider flight from HEL with AY? I read mostly positive feedback about their new "Sky Sofa" J product (I will finally fly it next week!), and the 13-14h from HEL to Japan is plenty of time to both sleep and enjoy the new cabin.

I monitor the pricing and usually book in January (for a March/April flight) ... Cathay's prices have shot up over the last few weeks so I'm looking again at QR. We've never done it, as I like the 12-13 hour flight from Europe to Hong Kong as we sleep well, rather than being woken up and kicked out half way through. It's complicated by the fact HKG isn't our destination, TPE is.

The extra Tier Points for breaking up the journey always look tempting though. Plus, we could always explore Doha.
