I didn’t realize this—thank you for pointing it out. I may need to rethink my mileage run strategy (assuming MM status doesn’t require exclusively revenue flights). Over the past few years, I’ve typically purchased 20 round-trip flights during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, primarily between PDX and JFK. I’ve also mixed in some multi-day trips to SFO, LAX, SAN, and SEA, then connected through FLL, MIA, and EWR on the East Coast before returning to PDX. My goal has been to hit 100K for renewal by the end of February each year, then focus on leisure award travel with friends for the rest of the year, outside of work trips (which have significantly decreased). My overarching goal is to reach MM status as quickly and affordably as possible.

Do you know when we might get confirmation on whether award travel EQMs will count toward MM status? Also, I’m curious about your Florida-SAN-SEA-PDX-ANC-ADK flight suggestion. Is it a single long multi-city booking for 12.5K miles, or did you manage to arrange more than 2-3 stops creatively? Either way, it’s a very interesting approach.
