The PHX-EWR/JFK/PHL redeye has no secrets. I fly a lot of domestic redeyes from SEA/SFO/LAX/SAN and get through it even heading straight to the office in some cases.

I've done that PHX redeye 5 or 6 times and even in F it's just too short. It ruins my next day no matter what I've tried.

My only tip is book a connection in the morning somehow I've found that doing something like LAX-ATL as the redeye then taking the 6am ATL-XXX and getting in around 9 makes it somehow less painful. I've also connected in BOS as well to add that short flight.

Usually try to do the same thing to Europe. Flying NYC-LON/AMS/FRA-XXX and getting in to the destination city later is usually so much better then taking the direct early TATL and getting to a city at 9am.
