Re. bags, LH might/could/should re-tag your bags, but I’d be checking pretty vigilantly before boarding each flight to make sure that they were being loaded (or if they sent your bags ahead, that’s fine too).
This was a gate agent, prior to boarding the delayed flight. Additionally, during the flight, they announced that United was *not* holding the IAD flight so those passengers were SOL. There appeared to be some attempt at LH knowing what UA would be doing.

Sure would have been nice to spend an extra day in Barcelona!!!
