Who at LH told you that UA would hold 927, and at what point during the trip? I wouldn’t trust the vast majority of, if not all, frontline agents with this sort of “info.”

Re. bags, LH might/could/should re-tag your bags, but I’d be checking pretty vigilantly before boarding each flight to make sure that they were being loaded (or if they sent your bags ahead, that’s fine too).
