I called American AAdvantage Customer Service because I haven't received the trip credit.
They are telling me to go into the 250,000 Loyalty Point Award and select $250:

$250 American Airlines Trip Credit (1)

AAdvantage® credit cardmember exclusiveSet your sights on your next adventure with a $250 American Airlines Trip Credit. Your $250 Trip Credit can be used for travel anywhere on American.

However, isn't this something different than the $125 offer? I think the rep is confusing things.
This is what I'm referring to:

Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Elite Mastercard® cardholders can earn a $125 American Airlines flight discount certificate after spending $20,000 or more in purchases during their card membership year and renewing their card


The rep said I should call 1-866-458-4216 and discuss with Citi.
