For many the location of the hotel is a downside. Yes, you can walk to Smalls and the restaurants on that Soi but anywhere else, you need to prepare to get a grab and face the traffic.
Lumpini MRT is sort-of close (about 10 minutes walk), but yes, not nearly so convenient to public transit (particularly BTS) as many of the Suhumvit properties.
