And, there it is.

Just a few hours before take-off (and at least a full day after WestJet already knew) they sent this:

Hello FLYERJ, the aircraft for your flight has changed.

Your itinerary has not changed, but the inflight entertainment and aircraft configuration may be different. If you originally purchased Premium or Business and are not seated in your original cabin, you may be eligible for a partial refund. Please complete the cabin downgrade refund request form after your flight. We apologize for any inconvenience.

There is no inflight entertainment, Wi-Fi or in-seat power available on your aircraft. We encourage you to download movies, TV shows and games on your personal electronic device before you board.
Oddly, no mention of what to do if you booked and paid for an Extended Comfort seat.

Which adds salt to the wound, as I’ve clearly lost my EC seat.

But in return … well, that last line in the first paragraph. “We apologize for any inconvenience.”

For me, 2024 has become the year of the insincere WestJet apology.
