For what it’s worth, I pulled distances between city pairs from Continental; none of those distances changed after the merger. It suggests to me that United and Continental pulled their figures from a similar source or calculated them in the same manner. Over the years, I have only had to adjust the distance in a handful of city pairs. Granted, I haven’t flown to Austin often, so can comment on that great city!
