I had all our data in the app before we began our trip.
Upon landing at IAH, I took our pictures and click submit. Mine came back “not confirmed. See agent.”
(or something like that.) my wife’s photo hit a confirmation number.
we skipped the kiosk and went straight to an agent.
He glanced at our passports and waved us through.
I’m not sure if my photo was under my wife’s confirmation number or what, but it was an easy experience. About 15 minutes from stepping off the plane to exiting the arrival hall.
Granted, it was Thanksgiving Evening around 1730 and the arrival hall was pretty quiet.
