If, and that's an impossible IF, passengers that at least in the US adhered to boarding procedures it wouldn't be a running of the bulls. But it reflects the overall degrading of society.

Airlines have come to prize monetizing the plane far more than boarding efficiency. Back in the day it was first class, the elite levels then general boarding starting from the back of the plane. Airlines other than first class and maybe an E+ section airlines generally did not sell seats. If you wanted an aisle or window you got to the airport early and checked in before others.

Now it's 8-10 boarding zones.
