Honeymoon questions (upgrade to first, lounge access,..)
Flying Europe to South Africa next year for our honeymoon. Flights will be booked via Amex Travel into Business Class (still got quite a bit of credit with them). I’ve got a few questions:
1. I am not sure which fare is used - cancellation and refund fees match a saver fare. Am I right to assume that the other policies (upgrade ability, lounge access, chauffeur) will match the saver fare? The only thoing i see is business cass (O). As far as I can see O could be both saver or special.
2. Any disadvantages I need to be aware of by booking with Amex regarding upgradability,...?
3. I'm hoping to upgrade us to first (slim chance, I'm aware). How does the upgrade for miles work when booked into a saver fare? Does it become available 48 hours before the first flight or 48 hours before the last flight?
4. Do the upgrade options appear during OLCI or do I need to call / chat with emirates?
