You need to call AS, ask to talk to International partner desk and be prepared agent has no clue what you talk about... But the agent can contact the help desk which in my case obviously knows the issue. I was lucky that despite both the first rep and the intl desk rep had no clue who was Oman Air, they both were willing to transfer to where the staff would know, after a little bit of push from me.
The ticket is reissued thru a "different" system. As a result I never get an email confirmation of the reissued ticket. However I can see a new, 2nd ticket number shown on Oman side. I also can use the Print function on the Legacy AS account Trips screen (NOT the current beta, just click the link at the top of the screen to revert back to pre-update version), to request email of the trip sent to me, as well as print a pdf file of the trip. That is how I get a confirmation of the reissued ticket with new ticket number. I suspect it is better to have a HARD COPY when traveling on the partner which is not very familiar with award booking or which is not a global airline.
My guess is, this is due to Sabre new version somehow chopped off the baggage allowance portion of tickets which certain carriers DEMAND to receive this part, else there is no allowance for both hand carry and checked bag. You can see in AA forum there is an ongoing thread talking about AA issued awards on QR would be missing this portion every so often - it is like a crap shoot that you never know whether you are unlucky enough gotten this issue because it does not happen every single time, just randomly. There is a guy posted on the AA thread about AS issued award ticket on QR also suffered this.

The is a button on the website but when I click on it a popup window says "Action not allowed We are unable to make changes to your seat selection for this flight. For assistance please contact our Call Centre on (+968 2453 1111)". I remember there was an option to pay for a seat during the booking process, but decided to wait hoping once they became part of OneWorld I'd be able to get a choice seat for free. Unfortunately that didn't pan out as they have moved out the join date to June next year...
You can either call them or email them. There is a US contact phone number with 201 area code, as well as a email address.

They are responsive. Though you need to double make sure they spell the email address correctly. On mine the guy who helped me mispelled Comcast to Compass. So I would need to call back on Monday to get it fixed.
