Helpful today at LAX was an agent directing people to an open kiosk or groups of people traveling together to a kiosk. Weird today at LAX was two lanes, left and right. We both went to a kiosk, facial recognition, said good to go/proceed. Went to the open lane and the guy says he can't see our pictures so we didn't do it right, go back and do it again. I noticed he was saying that to everyone. Agent on right, though, was viewing faces on her screen and telling people by name that they could move on through. I ignored the guy and just stood around for the woman on right to say my name -- my wife went back to a kiosk (which told her again to proceed), so I stood and observed a bit... It looked like the left guy was really just there to take pictures of certain people who were getting special attention (including a kid of maybe 13-14) and was messing up the system. Agent on right was just slammed by the rush of people. Facial recognition worked. Felt like a higher percentage of inexperienced travelers today who were in family groups and not sure how to use GE.
