Just finished a four-night stay; here are some updates.
I did a points stay with a suite upgrade award booking into the standard king suite. I was upgraded into the dreaded Premium King Suite 301 next to the rail tracks. I have to say, other than the lack of privacy with the eastbound rail platform looking into the bedroom, I didn't mind the room location and the noise from the passing light rail, while loud enough to be heard, didn't keep me from getting decent sleep each night (I didn't even have to use my earplugs). We enjoyed the spacious rooms and tons of drawers to put things away, and the huge soaking tub was put to good use (thankfully, I brought bath salts as the property still doesn't offer them). One peeve was the tiny and shallow mini-fridge in the room which didn't have space for more than a few cans/bottles.
The Canopy Club and Rooftop were both closed; they are scheduled to reopen along with Zaytinya on December 17. The entrance to the restaurant has the new signage/branding up, so they hopefully are on track. All meals are served in the nameless restaurant and we didn't have any issues with some reasonable freestyle a la carte ordering; no comments from our server and no extra charges on my folio.
Overall, I really do love this property and it remains my favorite Hyatt in LA.
