For those of us in the festive spriti: "Happy thanksgiving!"
And for those of us who are slaves to their passions: " Happy Black Friday & Cyber Monday!"
Inspired by
daruda 's stay at the HI Resort Canggu, i decided to come on over from IC Bali Jimbaran Resort to have a personal look and feel of the hotel and to survey if it could be a good alternative base if we return to Bali and decide to stay a bit closer to the "action". Don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of Jimbaran, but *cough* cough* i've got kids in the young adult range that appreciate Jimbaran but do find it pensionado snooze city where its seafood or lights out at 22.00 H as everyone usually is passed out from a seafood induced coma.
For this opportunity i've let the concierge of IC Bali Jimbaran inform the HI Resort Canggu that we were planning to visit on a specific day.
All went well because after an approx 1,5 H drive by our chauffeur, traffic was doable, because we left Jimbaran at 09.00 morning, we were warmly welcomed by the bell captain and laterF&B manager of the HI Resort Canggu. Disclaimer: i've stayed in Canggu before at the Tugu hotel prepandemic
https://tuguhotels.com/hotels/bali/ so i already knew a bit of the direct neighbourhood. It has changed.... a lot! I've seen more coffeeshops than a certain Seattle conglomo in its hometown!
I'm not affiliated in anyway but the videos of Joose the Nomad, show the clièntele with a certain mindset nowadays roaming in Canggu.
And with that vent out if the way, we continue to more important matters of the flesh:

Word about the dresscode: it is all leisure and relaxed in Canggu and at this hotel.

as you know Hades has a tendency to eat his way through salvation, yet his twinbrother Zeus eats his way befitting a foodsnob.
So with that mindset, a double taste test features from both judges ruled
unanimous: yummy & no butttrumpet afterwards = passed the twin titans taste test. Even as an outside guest and not inhouse guest, i was still able to enjoy the IHG dining privileges discount https://www.ihg.com/content/gb/en/de...ipating-hotels
And here is our food extravangaza.
Don't worry, we are not tiktok/gramners who order an avalanche of food for a photo and leave to let the food go untouched and go to waste.
Courtesy of our bellies, we ate it all.
Drinks and complimentary warm bread.
We went for their speciality....

A pleasent talk with the f&b manager teached us that the chef had worked at the Buddha Bar in the UAE Dubai.
Also the hotel recruits its staff from all Balinese that have worked before on cruise lines : Princess, Costa, Celebrity, Norwegian, Holland America, Seabourn as the idea is that the workpool can anticipate Western service standards, have a better grasp in English skills and provide a higher bar in service quality. Those meeting the highest standards are deployed to the Regent Canggu next door, as the owner owns that hotel and this HI.
Pool on the topfloor level 5
daruda has already shown you some excellent photos, i'll just add my own visuals and the rootop pool's menu.
And that concludes my introduction to this hotel.
Next up are two room types we were able to view.
