Just booked a mixed AA/AS award on Alaskaair.com. I chose my "alternative" identity without loyalty number since I will have AA PE next year, but no status with AS. The AA website let me pull up the itinerary based on the AA PNR, and there is a feature to add the AA loyalty number. But it doesn't seem to stick. So then I reached out to AA via Chat and they were able to add it. It now appears on the AA site when looking at the reservation. BUT, the AS website (and app) don't show it, and I can't choose a PC seat based on that loyalty status for the AS segment. Does it take time to "sync" back from AA to AS, or is AS adding additional measures on their site to block partner-elite benefits like seat selection on AS awards?
(after going through all this, I realized that it would actually be better to have the AS number on the reservation anyway as I would earn EQMs for that TATL award. And the AA segments are in J/F, so having extra PE status isn't really getting me anything. And my current AS 75k status should presumably even let me choose a PC seat for a flight next year, and unless there is a schedule change, it might even stick)
