SNA767, I think yuor advice here is as 'expert' as it gets - although it is a bit of a b*gger to find more than 5 or 6 of the business hotels available at this price range when you don't read Japanese .
I'll most definitely keep your links in my own file, for the 76 (dollars?)the twin room at the Toyoko Inn in Shinjuku looks positively vast by Tokyo standards!

Be careful RickDog99 - if you intend on taking someone back to the hotel with you, you will almost certainly be charged extra. You may want to check with the hotel to find out what their policy is on this matter - it could prove embarassing haggling out late at night with a date beside you. The other thing to watch out for is the pre-payment policies of this hotel - and the surprisingly high incidents of your visa card not working in the hotel's machines (if they even have one). Be prepared to pay in cash for the full stay when you check in.
