I don't think it's just AUS but there's something about Texas in general as even at DFW, despite being the second largest carrier at the airpory, the quality of customer service is better than I have experienced elsewhere with Delta
I had an issue where my bag was tagged incorrectly and I only realised it after the bag was already was put on the belt. Anyways, the agent called downstairs to the bag people and then told me which carousel to wait by for it to get it and then bring it back to the counter. Not only did the bag come back up but the gentleman that was in the basement area that sent it back up, he himself came up as well to make sure that it was gotten by me. He said he could have sorted it out there but something to do with my PNR being split due to a weather issue with an original connection I had , the agent upstairs would be able to deal with it better as I was physically upstairs as well.
I was very impressed with how they dealt with this
