No, most *A flights earn PQPs/PQFs.
However, during booking and the on itinerary page UA shows incorrect earnings. (Typically 0 when it should be more)

How many PQPs varies depending on how booked. Of booked on UA ticket, it is based on fares. If booked on non-UA ticket, it is based mileage flown and fare class

Just an example of the error in forecasting earnings. Fortunately, earnings post correctly 99.9% of the time. And in the rare case of a pasting error, are quickly corrected.
