757 uses about 45,000 lbs of thrust - way more than the GTF can product. It would have required a new engine from Pratt.

Unfortunately Boeing got rid of all the tooling long before anybody was thinking NMA. They also almost certainly would have had to design whole new wing, which is billions of dollars.
