Two night point stay here last week. Couple of interesting notes:
1. Two Chase cards were declined on their POS. I called Chase and they said it was declined due to non matching billing address which is incredibly odd for a POS transaction. However, I felt a strong suspicion it was something wrong in the hotel's setup rather than Chase, so I asked them to enter my Hyatt biz card number manually rather than chip-in, and it worked. So if you run into anything odd like that with Chase cards or any card really, try asking them to manually enter the card number.
2. I also got the free hotel car transfer to JR Kyoto mentioned by someone earlier. However, I don't think this is a standard service you should expect. We had a 5PM Shinkansen and we were leaving around 4PM. The traffic was so bad that I think they determined it would take an excessive amount of time for a taxi to make it in and back out such that we'd miss our train. As most folks know, the; area of this hotel is both blessing and curse, and if you have sent your bags via TA-Q-BIN and can walk down the hill on foot to flag down a taxi, you'll save yourself a lot of time. Really appreciate the hotel helping us here as it was almost 4:45 when we got to JR Kyoto and the hotel driver was good at taking side roads to dodge traffic, we would have been screwed waiting on a taxi. The hotel car was also very spacious and comfy.
