We are flying LHR-ORD in F in the summer and current aircraft allocation is a 787 (not sure if its 789 or 781). Mrs Definitas like a window so, with row 1 window seats blocked, l initially chose 2F and 2K both outbound and inbound. I then then read about the possibility of being moved due to 2F being a bassinet seat so I have swapped us to 2A and 2E. Neither of us have any status so I have no chance of securing 1A unless it becomes available close to departure. When would that normally occur? Would there be any point in phoning You First a few days before departure or will I need to keep logging in to check?

I have also wondered if 1A may be noisier due to its proximity to the galley. Would I be best to stick with 2E on the overnight return?
