I was just pointing out that some other airlines do not have the policy of blocking the door in open mode until they fully finish the main meal. I only know QR and BA, not flown other airlines with doors.
I expect that AF staff will come to do like other airlines and let you close the door if you don't wish to be disturbed.
BTW opening the door from the aisle only takes a few seconds, there is no unlocking to do. The door is only locked, by the crew, in open mode
A few seconds? Hardly one second. These are sliding doors, just slide them. It's not even the manipulation of having to press down a handle and to step back or forward.
Slide open your shower door, your kitchen shelf door, your desk drawer... they're slightly smaller, but still, if it takes you two seconds that means you are moving in slow motion.
So why not unlock them, let those passengers that want close them do so, then open them when serving passengers, and asking them politetly to leave them open for service, and that a closed door will mean that the crew will leave passengers rest in peace. And literally say "that way we'll give you the privacy you want", don't say "otherwise we'll refuse to serve you", which sounds very French union-LFI.
