The press release says that the seat will take to the skies in mid 2026. So the very first A380 will be refitted by then, that’s a long time to wait for Club Suite and easily possible to stretch into 2028, given they are likely to do only one at a time.
The colleague email says early 2026, which is hardly scientific. The question I have, though, is that I've seen plans - and fairly recent ones - that see the first 380 going for a retrofit in September 2025. I did hear in the grapevine that this would've meant that the first 380 wouldn't be fitted with new F at the beginning (and hence why I always assumed that new F would insist on the same floorspace as old F), but I thought this was a proposal.

Against whom are they competing going West? Not many people will take a side-shuffle from LHR to travel West with LH/AF/LX which is the only serious F competition. And therein lies the dilemma. No real competition going West, blown away by the competition going East (other than perhaps on price).
Much in the same way that plenty of Flyertalker will start from anywhere in Europe to nab a cheaper price, plenty of people fly from London to ZRH/FRA/MUC/CDG. Otherwise those three airlines wouldn't have, by my quick reckoning, some 20+ daily feeders to those four hubs from the London area.
