Flew the -8I out of IAD last year, seated in 64K. I had thought the -8 would be more quiet than the -400 but was deeply disappointed.

Have flown the A380 multiple times, and there simply is no comparison. It beats the 747 so badly on comfort, it’s like comparing a 1970s Ford with a new Rolls Royce.

The flight out of IAD was overbooked and I was offered a rebooking on a direct flight to my ultimate destination. Declined, as I really wanted to fly the -8I. They won’t be around for long, and opportunities to fly them are few and far between. Glad that I did, but wouldn’t go out of my way to do so again. It was a disappointment to be honest, exacerbated by the seriously sub-par C-class offering from Lufty. The A380, on the other hand, I will exploit nearly every opportunity to fly on that. Except if it’s LH.
