Before I go ahead and book these, I thought I would ask the friendly folks here if you know of any better TP runs for those weekends or help me find one PLEASE. I am a bit lost. I am keen to get a long-haul 140 TP business class leg in the run to maximise my run of course. Will be flying business/first. I am happy to take positioning flights as needed - can leave SF early Saturday (or even Friday on the second weekend) and have to be back before Monday morning
They seem pretty expensive, but I guess it’s a busy time if it’s warm in California but nowhere else.

Have you played around with Google flights and ITA Matrix for your dates? That should point you in the direction of what’s reasonable. Extra tips… include SJC as well as SFO (it’s an hour on the train and often cheaper), don’t be afraid to position elsewhere (LA?) on Southwest or using Avios, try looking at Hawaii (likely expensive but you never know, and it’s 140 TP per flight), also look at AS not just AA, and try searching outside the US too - Mexico, central America, Puerto Rico and Caribbean are sometimes cheaper than mainland runs, and you can probably squeeze a transcontinental flight in there somewhere (LAX-CLT perhaps). Finally, note there are some more obscure AA routes that give 140 TPs but are less popular and therefore more likely to have space (e.g. there’s an overnight LAX-RDU flight).
