I just started getting unwelcome upgrades into Comfort+ when I didn't ask for them. This has now happened a couple of times in the last two weeks or so. Just today Delta upgraded me on a ticket I purchased last week. It assigned me a middle seat, when I had a nice window exit row seat already chosen. Thankfully I was paying attention and was able to get my original seats back, but I could've just as easily lost my original choice.

I always carefully select my seats when I purchase. If I want a Comfort+ seat that is available, I'll select it.

On my profile, the Request Upgrade option for Comfort+ is turned off. I haven't touched that in years. And yes, I checked, and it's still turned off. I spoke with an agent about it and she said that she can see that I declined the Comfort+ upgrade on the specific trip, so she didn't know why I was upgraded either.

Anyone else had this happen?
Did you get the email that Delta had upgraded you? This is usually automatic, or did they turn that off also?
