Of course it depends on the class of service. I can't imagine anyone here preferring LAX-SYD in economy in either plane over the same trip in first in the other.

Assuming the same class of service, every airline configures its own interiors. That difference is also more important to the travel experience than the difference between the two aircraft families.

And, to those who like the look of a 747: once you're inside, you can't see what the plane looks like. All you can see is the cabin you're in, Different airlines put their classes of service in different parts of the plane, with more or fewer bulkheads making the cabin look larger or smaller.

Bottom line: 747-vs-A380 is about fifteenth on the list of things that matter to me in choosing a flight, somewhere between the position of the carrier's gates at the airport and the color of the FA aprons, and way behind the quality of the wines they offer.
