Thanks for the suggestion of going direct. Whilst a bit offtopic I do understand that the general consensus is to go direct wherever possible, however for me it is down to personal preference and my own schedule. I am not a morning flight person and it takes me a couple of hours to get to LHR. When travelling to the far east I prefer arriving in the evening so I can sleep and wake up in the morning, if I do a day nap I run the risk of sleeping all the way through and not dealing with jetlag.
Also, the idea of visiting Singapore on the return sounds cool as is going on an A380. There is no additional cost and I'd like to try as many experiences as I can whilst I'm in my youth.
I'm not totally ignoring the direct flight, just that I would like to consider other options.
If I had it my way I would rather do an afternoon LHR-DOH-HAN (arriving in the evening) and then the direct VN on the return, but booking with BA does not offer this.
I was hoping that the baggage allowance could be enhanced by putting a STE+ FFN on my VN flight, then a BA FFN on my BA flight, but appreciate that VN may only be able to recognise STE+ FFN but not recognise my BA FFN on my BA flight to check it all the way through. I just thought that perhaps someone has done this before, because I assume this isn't the first time BA is offering this route.
Thanks anyway.
