Guess I will bring this thread back on topic. ORD-LGA this week had the snack basket (and the return of corn nuts!!!!). Granted, it is a far fall from the previous exception route that this used to receive a meal on.
The elimination of the exception routes was disappointing. Westbound from Boston is blocked at 3ish hours so the
option of a meal was always appreciated, especially in the evening when arriving from work just before boarding. Boston also just made the cut for a light meal to CLT (Zoe’s mezz plate or fruit and cheese), which was
on tight connection days.
The snack basket is so variable that not getting it on short hops is no big deal.
