Did two nights at Sheraton Guangzhou Panyu, to visit the nearby Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park. As an Ambassador was upgraded to a large 5 room suite (kitchen, 2nd bathroom, living room, bedroom, first bathroom). Didn't have time/inclination to visit the lounge, but my overall view of elite treatment was positive - though most of the visitors at the weekend were Chinese families. The breakfast was extensive, including an egg chef, a noodle chef, and a "rice pancake" chef (which was new to me). The Chinese dishes were a bit more on the local side I would say, so for example the dim sum were 5x of buns and only a single steamed dumpling, and there were dishes like duck and beef at the breakfast table. For food you also had an attached mall (fairly run down), and within walking distance was a food street (5 minutes), and bar area (15 minutes).

Tying into the family vibe, the hotel had won some kind of "best family hotel" award in 2024 that was on display. So, we'd go back to visit the park again, or if we needed a hotel in the area. But it is far away from the city centre. And staff training was "all ok", but clearly not that well designed for frequent Western visitors or those looking for going above and beyond, so for example there was a fruit welcome gift, but no welcome letter/anything addressing me by name.
