Still, I have very fond memories of Amanpuri, having stayed there in the 90s and the aughts. And I like the idea of retreating to that cocoon of civility and tranquility after having spent 4 to 5 hours in the horror that is Patong.
But then there is Rosewood, which is just outside of Patong. It would certainly be an easier and much shorter commute. And it certainly looks nice. But is it? Something about the place is nagging at me.
Logic is telling me to go with the convenience of Rosewood, heart is saying go with the tranquility and coddling service of Amanpuri.
So what would an experienced traveler like yourself do in my situation? Any thoughts? The client will pay for either one.
Thai driving would scare the bejesus out of me. Personally, I would go for the easiest commute but maybe you will also have a hired driver? If so, then take Amanpuri for sure.
