Rather depends on the country, if you are ASEAN you can use the e-gates, but you need to register beforehand.
Confusingly, you do this through the e-visa page -
https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/
If you go there, state the country that issued the passport and go from there. I don't know if citizens that do not require visas, but are from non-ASAN countries can do this, but it'll only take you a few minutes to give it a try.
