We recently refunded 2 tickets purchased in 2019 and 2 tickets purchased in 2020 prior to COVID by visiting Thai Airways Head Office in Bangkok. Tickets to the furthest locations that TG flies to in First and Business Class. We had not registered for a refund on the website.

Refund was processed and cash received in about 1 hour, all done very efficiently with no queue. Transfer to bank account is possible, but time to do so was not known so took the cash option.
