Holiday Inn Express Moab

What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Maybe.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 2 Queens Suite and received the same.

How are the rooms?
The common area and the rooms seem to be recently renovated, which was similar to modern HIX in the US. The room was bright and with plenty of power outlets. It is more like a bigger room than an actual suite, as the only difference seems to be a sofa bed with a coffee table. Housekeeping was terrible. The first room we were in had large patches of dirt on the sofa and hairs in the bathroom. The second room we were changed to also had bunch of hairs on the sofa, but it was really late so we settled it and just wiped all the surfaces ourselves. The sink had terrible drainage and had mold/gunk all over the inner edge. There was a recent bed bug report on Google Maps, but we checked our beds and linens and our room didn't seem to be infested.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
The good:
- Suites available on reward nights
- Renovated rooms
- Free parking

The bad:
- None

The ugly:
- Extremely bad housekeeping (dirt on sofa, hair on floor, and the bathroom sink was just gross)
- Wi-Fi is not encrypted and very slow (< 5 Mbps)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I was able to book it when IHG was running 15% off for reward nights. Not factoring in the discount, the points rate was about 20% cheaper than the non-refundable cash rate. I don't think I will be in Moab again anytime soon, but I would think twice before booking this HIX again.
