Why would they be? TP and VY aren't AS partners. They're also not in OW so there's no reason an AA ticket on some random other airline AS has zero relationship with would credit?

Probably best asked in the AA forum as AS has nothing to do with ticket rules since AA issued the ticket, and really has nothing to do with how AA interprets your OWE benefits on their tickets? AA's going to be the ones doing the ticket rules.
