I'm genuinely curious why one would even want to do that? If you were getting 12,000 points from the Signature membership, and only needed 2,000 more points to reach Platinum, and you couldn't manage to stay enough to earn 2,000 points over an entire year, what use could you have for Platinum status? Status isn't worth anything if you're not using it.
