Just for the sake of it.
It won't be fast but airlines usually hate if DOT has records of complaints about them.
This way DOT also learns about this and can put that into their current credit card / frequent flyer investigations.
And no, I don't care if it's on AS or AA. AS can also get on the phone with AA and figure out why the, potentially SFTP file-based, transport of the miles over to AA didn't work.
