That‘s not what I was replying to; I believe the question was whether it‘s always valid exactly 365 days from the moment when it is selected (which it is not). But of course the January thing that you describe might be worth waiting for if possible (I don’t, because I will always find a use within a year, but might forget to claim it in January).
Yes, you understand correctly. By choosing the 40K FNA between Jan 1-7, it will be valid for almost 2 yrs. This does not apply to NUAs though. They’re only valid for the year following when they were earned.
I see you are fairly new here, but this has been discussed many, many times over the years.
Of course, this could change at any time, because it’s not supposed to work like that. Marriott IT has so many broken things to fix, I would hope that they wouldn’t make this a priority.
