BA denied my claim due to ATC restrictions. Yes, there was weather but this wasn’t the primary cause. BA’s defence was very long but I was able to counter every single point. CEDR agreed and awarded in my favour. Good luck and let us know how you get on (and let me know if you need any help too).
Thank you PlaneSpeaking, it's much appreciated. Myself and my work colleague have both been rebuffed twice by BA, but both with different reasons - ATC in our case and Operational Reasons in theirs. I was told about Jem78's post this morning, so I thought i'd join in on here.

In our case, the Captain definitely said something along the lines of 'sorry for the delay, we've had some techincal issues with the aircraft and had to await a replacement'. This is backed-up by the FlightRadar24 data which shows our plane - G-EUOA - arriving 'on time' at 11:40am when our scheduled departure was 10:50am, so something's definitely amiss. I replied to BA's second rejection email yesterday with a request for a confirmation of their final stance. Once that's received i'll begin proceeding with the CEDR and keep my fingers crossed!

From what i've read, it seems like BA will just try to bat you away and hope that you'll leave it, then the CEDR step in and things turn around - at least this is what i'm hoping
