It's almost like it's not a part of FA training at all. They poke around in the galley for an actual hour before they manage to get a single tray out. They evidently don't define roles (e.g., you prep bread and nuts I prep mains, you run trays I do drinks), and they're constantly getting in each others' way, waiting on each other to move, etc. On a 950 mile flight, that means row 5 gets served when the pilot says we're starting initial descent.
Some crews are still able to do the meal service smoothly and efficiently, but the marx brothers routine seems to be getting more and more common.
Really makes you appreciate Lufthansa + Friends when they serve you your business class meal tray.
I was aboard OS from VIE-BER and everyone in business class got served a meal, bread service, followed by coffee service on a 50 minute flight! The purser did it all by herself for the full A320neo business cabin!!! After the trays were collected, they had time to go around offering pralines from a basket!
