I am wondering if I should get an email from BA when they change aircraft and as a result my seats. I am booked on BA196 IAH to LHR on 28/4/2025. When I booked, the seat map was for CW on 787. I had selected 6A and 6B. I went in to look at my booking today and noted I was now in 8E and 8F. On checking further the map / aircraft has changed to CS layout.

I didn’t receive an email from BA advising me of this change? Should I have? What if I had say specifically booked a seat close to toilet or a window seat and only noticed the change closer to departure when there would be less options to choose from?

This has happened before when returning home from JFK… I didn’t notice until I was checking in online. On that occasion I was given a surprise last minute operational upgrade to F at the gate so I wasn’t complaining.. :-)

Any thoughts much appreciated as always.
